1.1.0: Multiple saves, proofreading and french localization!


Hi everyone,

First I want to thank you again for the reception of the demo. I got so a lot of positive feedbacks, it really means a lot to me :) Now, let's talk about what this devlog is about: I've just released a new version of the game, here are the new features I've just added.

French localization

Bonjour, détectives! The demo is now fully playable in french too. It took me way too much effort to do it, so I hope you'll appreciate it :D 

Multiple saves

You can now use 3 saves at the same time. Now you can share the game with friends and family without losing your progress.


Proofreading

My english is far from perfect, as you can easily notice. I'm happy to say that the game has been proofreaded by Will, a professional proofreader (who is also a talented gamedev, check his latest game here: https://kini-games.itch.io/d-list-diva). 

I don't have a good GIF to share how proofreading went well, so here is a sneak peak of what I'm working on.

What inspired you to develope for GB? I love the GBc but I don't see much love for it in modern developement :c
I hope you consider to add german as well some day. I'd be down to help you out if needed.

My first handheld console was the GB, and I wanted to do a game I'd enjoy when I was a kid. That's all :)

About translations, that's a thing we considered, yes, depends of the budget we'll get for it!

Who didn’t start with a GB :') My journey was like this: GB color, GB advance, SNES, GameCube, Xbox 360, PC. I wish I still had a working GB color. I wonder if you can still make a physical gameboy game- Anyway, awesome that you’re thinking about translations. It’s always a plus, right (:

I’m telling you, the waffles series is a hidden gem, and I’m stoked to help shape the german player experience. That’s payment enough for me, tbh. There’s always the ‘pay what you want’ option via Paypal but I’d rather have a handwritten post card as a souvenir. (not kidding) Budget- no worries. I think the normal rate is like 3-5 cents/word but I’m not in it for the money. Money shouldn’t be a barrier and if that’s what’s holding you back from expanding the game, I’m more than happy to do it for free or whatever you can afford.

Well, I'm doing with friends a spinoff of Inspector Waffles: https://golosogames.itch.io/pixels-time-paradox . There won't be Waffles in it, but probably some other familiar faces. I'm not sure I'll do another game with Waffles soon, but who knows? :D

And if I ever do some post cards, I'll definitively send you one! (It's not planned at all at the moment, but it's a cool idea!)

And about translating, I'll let you know! Right now we don't need german translation for any of my games, but it could change!
